Gleaner & Food Delivery Driver
Reports to: Operations Manager
Compensation: $20 per hour
Status: Non-exempt, 12-15 hours per week
Lift UP is seeking a Gleaner! To meet the growing need for food access in our community, Lift UP seeks a reliable, and motivated Gleaner to assist with sourcing food for Lift UP’s programs. Primary duties include picking up thousands of pounds of food from community partners and transporting it to the Pantry, Warehouse, and partner housing agencies as needed. This position also delivers Lift UP food to residents in affordable housing within our service area. This position also regularly communicates with volunteers, community partners, and clients at pickup and drop off sites and provides warehouse support. This position ensures sufficient, high-quality food inventory is consistently available for Lift UP to distribute.
This is a part-time position and is ineligible for benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive Lift UP vehicles to pick up thousands of pounds of food at Amazon Warehouses, Oregon Food Bank, Fresh Alliance Partners, and Vendors at the instruction of the Operations Manager.

Deliver food to residents of affordable housing buildings on behalf of Lift UP.

Uphold OSHA and proper food compliance standards defined by Lift UP, Oregon Food Bank, and Feeding America. Assist with compliance of on-site pantries.

Complete required documentation of food weight and temperatures, as instructed by the Operations Manager.

Follow Lift UP gleaning guidelines to reduce waste and source highest need food items.

Transport food to the Lift UP Pantry, Warehouse, Free Food Market site, and/or Community Share sites and unload, as instructed by the Operations Manager.

Train Lift UP volunteers on gleaning procedures as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must be able to work on your feet and repeatedly lift 50 pounds

Ability to work independently with limited guidance

Ability to work in a team-based environment

Highly adaptable to change

Must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
