Do you share our passion for reducing hunger in our Portland community? Are you seeking to support your neighbors facing food insecurity? Our Adopt a Building program empowers you to enhance food access for neighbors by ensuring they have consistent access to abundant, nutritious food in the buildings where they live.

Adopt a Building and Support Our Mission to Reduce Hunger & Improve Lives

We Have Many Buildings Waiting to Be Adopted

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, congregations, individuals, and foundations who showed their commitment to feeding our community by adopting a building, last year we provided food for 4,008 residents in 30 low-income buildings in Northwest and Downtown Portland. With the help of these sponsors, we were able to improve food security and empower residents to have healthier, more stable, and more socially connected lives.

However, many buildings still struggle with food insecurity and are in need of assistance. In the past year, inflation has increased the cost of food by 10%, and SNAP benefits have been reduced. It is becoming increasingly difficult for low-income residents to access a nourishing meal. Partners like YOU help them access the food they need and deserve.

By participating in our Adopt a Building program, you will support three essential in-building services that feed, nourish, and connect our neighbors facing food insecurity.

Our Adopt a Building Program Provides Essential Onsite Services

An accessible and stable supply of food, restocked monthly, for residents in urgent need of food. Usage of Emergency Food Closets in Adopted Buildings doubled in the past year.

Our unique Delivered Food Boxes provide residents facing barriers to food access with a week's supply of fresh food and pantry staples delivered conveniently to their front door.

Our 4-part Supper Club series teaches nutrition, fosters basic cooking skills, and provides community building opportunities for residents.

Who Are the Residents You’ll Be Supporting?

Lift UP focuses on collaborating with housing partners that serve the following groups: households with incomes below 60% of Area Median Income, seniors and adults with disabilities, and those providing Permanent Supportive Housing.

My Delivered Food Box is so helpful, especially at the end of the month when I have no food left. It’s such a good time to get our deliveries.
